(AP) ? Houston Texans running back Arian Foster says he's considering a heart procedure to address a condition that forced him out of a game.

Foster told the NFL Network's Alex Flanagan on Thursday that he will "likely undergo" a heart ablation in about a month. An ablation involves the use of a catheter to correct structural problems that can lead to an abnormal heartbeat, according to the Mayo Clinic's official Web site.

The 26-year-old Foster left in the third quarter of Houston's 23-6 loss to Minnesota on Dec. 23 with an irregular heartbeat. Coach Gary Kubiak said after the game that Foster had also experienced the problem in a practice.

Foster rushed for 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2012.

Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Access Point (AP20000G)

Amped Wireless' High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Access Point (AP20000G) is a piece of networking hardware that can either be used to bring wireless access to an existing network, or to upgrade wireless networks with legacy 802.11x technology to the more modern 802.11n standard. The access point (AP) delivers excellent throughput, especially on the 5GHz band and provides very good coverage but lacks some more business-oriented features of some SMB access points on the market.

Specs
The AP20000G operates at the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. The device supports up to 600Mbps of theoretical throughput. Dual amplifiers on both the 2.4 and 5GHz wireless radios help the access point with wireless signal coverage. Two high gain 5dBi dual band antennas screw into the antennas ports on the casing.

The access point features five Gigabit Ethernet ports?one for wiring to a router or switch and four for connecting other networking devices to leverage Gigabit speeds. There's also a USB 2.0 port for sharing data on connected USB storage drives.

Users can operate the access point on an included stand, or flat on a desktop. The device is also wall-mountable.

Set Up and Configuration
There's very little to set up; the process is very easy. I powered the AP and connected its port labeled "network" to a switch on my network. I also connected a laptop to one of the ports on the AP labeled "Wired Devices."

The AP takes a few seconds to configure itself. There are several LEDs on the device's front panel that light up when power is on, when a device is connected to one of the Ethernet ports, and when there is an active network connection.

Once the LEDs were lit, I could see two new SSIDs, created by the AP20000G in my laptop's list of wireless networks. The AP creates an SSID for each band. The security key for each is printed on the bottom of the access point.

Of course, you will want to change the default SSID password and the AP's admin password. To configure the AP, I just opened a browser on my laptop and pointed to the URL: setup. ampedwireless.com. The interface has the same neat, intuitive-to-navigate design of Amped Wireless' High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Router (R20000G).

The AP20000G shares some features that are built-in across Amped Wireless' product line. One such feature is the ability to control the wireless coverage area. Radio buttons allow you to set coverage at 100 percent (which is the default setting), down to 15 percent. Lowering the coverage area means lowering the range? area in which the AP broadcasts itself, which may be desired for security reasons, and lowers the overall output power.

Users also have the option to disable the wireless radios based on a schedule by day and time Access to the AP can be granted or denied based on a MAC address control list.

The AP is designed to extend wireless network connectivity in small business networks and homes. I would recommend it as an AP more for consumers and for smaller business networks not requiring a lot of security or controls. This is because, aside from RADIUS authentication support, there are fewer business-class features in the AP20000 than some other SMB APs we've tested. For instance, there's no native firewall or Active Directory integration, as there is in a true SMB AP such as the Meraki MR16.

While the AP20000G supports up to eight guest networks, you can't create a custom splash page for guests that access the AP as you can with the Meraki MR16?device.? However, each guest network on the AP20000G can be set with its own login credentials and you can limit bandwidth for each network.

Also, there's no AP isolation preventing wireless clients from communicating with one another when they are connected to the AP which may be a security concern for some.

These lack of features may be fine for smaller businesses especially ones with routers that have these features such already, such as a built-in firewall. However, those needing APs with more business controls may want to look into business-class APs from Meraki or HP.

I found the same lengthy reboot required for just about changing any settings in the AP20000G as in Amped Wireless' R20000G router. A settings' change requires a 70 second reboot of the device which can be slightly annoying when you are first configuring the AP the way you want.

Performance
Amped Wireless' main focus is on range. You get good range and very good throughput, in fact the top throughput we've tested for an AP at 5 GHz, with the AP20000G.

The speeds are more on par with a dual-band wireless router. In 5 GHz mode at 30 feet, the AP2000G clocked a very impressive 113 Mbps. In comparison, many of the SMB APs on the market have tested quite a bit slower. For example, Meraki's MR16 AP? also a dual-band 802.11n AP? only managed 49 Mbps at the same distance in 5 GHz mode.

As expected, the AP20000G was slower, albeit, still with decent throughput in 2.4 GHz-N only mode, achieving an average throughput of 74 Mbps. Below is a chart comparing the AP20000G with other APs at 5 GHz:

Speedy, But Biz Feature-Light
For home users looking to extend a wireless network in a coverage area where a less-powerful wireless extender wouldn't get the job done, the AP20000G is an ideal piece of networking hardware.

Although this is a fast access point with very good coverage, business networks that need more control over security and user access may need to look into access points specifically marketed to the SMB. On its own,? the AP20000G is solid hardware showcasing Amped Wireless' commitment to delivering network products that are fast-performing and able to cover large areas. The AP20000G is a 3.5 star earner and is a very good access point.

Palestinian president wants Israelis to talk peace

(AP Photo/Ariel Schalit)

(AP) ? The Palestinian president will invite Israeli politicians to the West Bank to try to make sure peacemaking is on the new government's agenda, a senior official said Thursday, even as a top Israeli hard-liner proposed sidelining the polarizing issue.

Hoping to capitalize on the unexpected strength of moderates in Israel's incoming parliament, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wants to sit down with representatives of Israeli parliamentary factions to discuss the possibility of settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict peacefully, senior Palestinian official Yasser Abed Rabbo told The Associated Press.

"We invite the Israeli parties, particularly the new ones, for dialogue on future accords," Abed Rabbo said.

He did not say when the invitations would go out, but emphasized that Abbas wanted the meeting to take place before Israel forms its next government ? a process that is expected to take several weeks.

Tuesday's parliamentary vote ended in a surprise deadlock between a hawkish, religious bloc and a camp of centrist, secular and Arab parties. While Benjamin Netanyahu, as head of the largest single party in parliament, appears set to remain prime minister, he can't put together a stable coalition without drawing in moderates beyond his traditional hardline and religious base.

He has already extended his hand to a new centrist party that advocates more serious efforts to end the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Peace talks reached an impasse before Netanyahu came into office four years ago and never resumed in earnest. The main obstacle during his tenure has been continued construction of Jewish settlements in areas captured in the 1967 war, the West Bank and east Jerusalem. Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip in 2005 but still controls access by land, sea and air.

Abed Rabbo said the Palestinians have not dropped two longstanding conditions for negotiations ? Israel must stop settlement building and the contours of the Palestinian state must be negotiated on the basis of the borders Israel held before 1967.

While opinion polls indicate a majority of Israelis back the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, peacemaking was barely mentioned as a campaign issue, reflecting widespread doubts that peace is possible after decades of violence and stop-and-go talks.

Still, the election's outcome defied forecasts that Netanyahu and his allies would steer a government with an even more hard-line makeup.

Instead, his top partner is likely to be Yesh Atid, a new party with moderate views on peacemaking that has emerged as Israel's new power broker.

Yesh Atid's leader, political newcomer Yair Lapid, has said he will not sit in a government that is not seriously pursuing peace with the Palestinians. But the focus of his campaign has been mostly on helping the needs of Israel's struggling middle class, raising questions about how hard he will push on the peace issue.

Lawmaker Avigdor Lieberman, a Netanyahu ally, told Israel Radio on Thursday that the next government must focus on domestic issues rather than peacemaking to avoid political paralysis, given lawmakers' sharply divergent views.

"If we want to founder from the outset, and embark upon endless internal struggles, then make foreign policy the top priority," he said.

"If we want the government to be effective and accomplish things, and leave a strong, significant imprint, I think everyone understands the need for domestic changes is dramatic, and that is the order of the day. So leave the foreign issues aside," he said.

Netanyahu has hinted that is the direction he is going in through the two brief statements he has given since the election results came in late Tuesday. Both statements have focused on the need to build a broad coalition to address pressing domestic issues.

Lieberman's ultranationalist Yisrael Beitenu party teamed up on a joint list with Netanyahu's Likud for Tuesday's election.

Tax Preparers: Helping Take the Stress Out of Filing Income Tax ...

The subject of tax preparation is something that many business owners do not wish to think about too often. Aside from the fact that they part ways with a certain amount of their earnings, to the average business owner income tax preparation and filing is a stressful and highly arduous task that involves a lot of math and so little time. For this reason, instead of diving into the task themselves, business owners would often hire the services of tax preparation services firms such as Karliner Tax Services in order to do it for them.

There are several key benefits to having a third-party entity handle tax filing and preparation. For one, these companies allow business owners to focus on matters that contribute to the growth of the company such as improving products and services, and coming up with innovative marketing strategies. This can be especially true for those whose income tax returns are a bit more complicated because of the various deductions and tax benefits that are available to them. These tax preparation services firms can also focus on giving their clients a carefully studied assessment of their current tax situation, and helping them with professional advice about how to maximize the tax benefits that they can be eligible for. With their advice, business owners become wiser and more educated about the taxes that they pay for on a regular basis. Another important benefit to making use of tax preparation services firms is that they make sure that their clients? income tax return forms are submitted on time, thus saving them the trouble of having to face legal consequences or paying for late fees and penalties as imposed by the IRS.

Founded by Ron Karliner and headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA, Karliner Tax Services is one of the companies that specialize in tax preparation. Their services have helped hundreds of people get through some of the most complicated tax-related issues, and they continue to do so to this day. Ron Karliner is a highly trained former IRS agent himself, which means he knows the US tax system and how to make sure that his clients are getting the exact number of tax deductions and benefits. Aside from having helped a large number of business owners keep away from various tax-related issues, Ron Karliner and company take pride in the speed and efficiency of their tax preparation service. The company is a BBB-accredited establishment that has received an A rating.

Samsung keeps lagging in the Windows Phone race

Samsung Windows Phone 8 SalesSamsung

It could be that Samsung (005930) simply does not care, but the world?s biggest smartphone brand is off to a notably weak start in the Windows Phone 8 race. On a British website tracking handset sales across all UK carriers, Nokia?s (NOK) Lumia 920 is at No.5 and the Lumia 820 is at No.10. Samsung?s ATIV S does not crack the top-10 list.

[More from BGR: BlackBerry 10 OS walkthrough, BlackBerry Z10 pricing]

At Expansys UK, the black Lumia 920 holds the top spot on the best-seller list and the yellow Lumia 920 is on the pre-order list; there are no Samsung Windows Phone models on the best-seller list, while the gray ATIV S is at No.8 on pre-order list.

[More from BGR: BlackBerry Z10 compared to iPhone 5 on camera [video]]

At Expansys Germany, there are three Lumia models ahead of the ATIV S. Even at Expansys France, several Nokia or HTC (2498) models trump the ATIV S on best-seller and pre-order lists. Samsung?s brand has been stronger in France than in the UK or Germany over the past couple of years.

Two Lumias made it to?Dial A Phone?s?most popular list, but the ATIV S does not. Lumias also trump the ATIV S on the most popular phone lists from?Phonehouse Germany and UK. The big British site Phones 4 U splashes two Lumias on its front page list of eight contract models ? no ATIV S in sight.

Samsung clearly had a slower start in Windows Phone 8 market, with Nokia rolling out the Lumia 920 in November and HTC getting its budget phone, the Windows Phone 8S, out by the third week of December. But it?s striking that in the third week of January, Samsung still appears to lag behind Lumia models and in many cases HTC?s Windows range. Usually, newer launches tend to pop in the sales charts at least for a couple of weeks; and Samsung typically gets its models strong placement in Europe?s leading handset retail websites.

It is possible that Samsung simply wants to prioritize the hot Galaxy S III and Note II models; and these two are being promoted strongly by European carriers and retailers. Regardless of the reason why, the ATIV S? surprisingly weak showing seems to be giving Nokia and HTC room to exploit the marketing support that carriers are allocating to Windows Phone 8.
